These logical possibilities lead us up the garden path of modal philosophy Slip. Descartes didn't get much further than that there are thoughts and mistakenly thinking they imply a thinker. Genetic organisation has HOX mechanisms that switch stuff on and off (so technically we could get snakes to grow legs) - there are actually many 'similar' mechanisms. I suspect there is a switch to a world of information. I'm more interested though in how we ever got switched on to lying in such great measure.
