The posts seem to be getting rather trite and rightly so as we have
run the course, though, we still stand at the beginning without
resolution. I guess "soul" discussion is a tautology, the nature of
which we are unable to elucidate beyond the boundaries of our human
perceptions. I may personally think that my perceptions transcend
those limitations, thereby opening doors within a scientific
confinement, but of course that is my personal view. For whatever
reason I cannot remove myself from my personal belief and perhaps for
us as a group, soul concept is a noumenon which we may never
experience as beings, never really know or understand. If we could
just put a tag such enigmas, life would be much easier.
At this point I would ask how much my life would change, in either
direction, having proof of soul or non soul. As it stands I exert
consideration towards soul damage in my daily activities and actions
towards people and animals. Right now I/we have nothing to go on
save our perceptions and understandings. Stranger things happen in
life anyway so having a soul after all might just be a secondary
concern. It seems that economics, global warfare and oppression,
local civil turmoil and the worry about crime and survival make soul
concept seem senseless.
As far as the soul and spirit, I believe that they are separate, in
that Spirit, though part of Soul, belongs to the flesh and upon the
death of the flesh the spirit is gone while the soul continues on.
For either consideration, I, totally, without exemption, exclude any
and all religious attachments or affiliations. For me the soul has
nothing to do with any theism.
