Glad to hear!! In fact, as I've only JUST read this and my rather
harsh 'prove it!' stuff was written yesterday without having read
this, I was thinking on my way home last night that the main reason I
haven't 'given up' on the free will argument is that I care that you
understand what reality is. Whilst I care that the world, at large,
knows, I care more that people here (Minds Eye) understand, as I fell
FAR closer to you. I'm glad to make others think and, to be honest,
when I was having that 'think' on the walk home last night, the
resistance that you've provided has given me (and is STILL giving me)
valuable chances to refine my arguments. It only dawned on me
yesterday to 'pull a "Chaz"' and turn the tables, once I realised that
you were making the positive statement about free will existing. That
made me realise that the onus to prove it lies with the claimant
(usually thrown at me when I insist on God's existence, yet cannot
'prove it' empirically). SO, all of this banter is just refining our
thoughts and ability to express and exchange them (the 'art' of
argument, if you will). If I can be remembered as 'a person who made
the world think', then that would be lovely. However, due to the
nature of my topics, I think (once a book is published, that is) that
I will be mostly misunderstood, possibly despised and reviled as well
as 'well-received' by a few. I expect that, at first, most will
reject my ideas because they do lead to a complete overhaul of how we
(humans) view ourselves, the universe and our role in the universe as
well as rethinking many major institutions (education, and the making,
execution and interpretation of law being the areas, potentially,
affected the most) and, on an individual level, an understanding of
the absolute necessity of each of us.
If my view is correct (not just the free will aspect but the lot)
then we are at the threshhold of a completely new era of human
society. I'm hoping that, as a result of my theories/book that the
world will be pushed just that much closer to that long-predicted era
of peace ('Kingdom of God'/'Messianic Era') when it is understood in
the hearts of all mankind that any harm we do to others, we actually
do to ourselves (as there is only One) and we are compelled from
within, because of our knowledge of the universe, to only extend good
will to others. But, I'm afraid that resistence is inevitable (it's
the same kind of thing that happened when Copernicus revealed the
truth about the Earth's rotation causing the illusion that the Sun
revolved around the Earth to those who were happy with the more
obvious [but incorrect] Ptolomaic view) and your resistence is just
practice, I think, for the more vehement resistence I'll encounter in
the future. So, thank YOU for giving me all the valuable experience
as well as also making ME think!!
Cheers,
Pat
