I was struck by someone footling about with post-postmodernism. Postmodernism was an unworthy genre that insisted we teach our students about the massive potentials of diversity and an insurrection of local knowledges whilst acting as the administrators of a bums- through-seats sausage factory academy in which higher education had become just another big business. We lied about caring as easily as a cosmetic advert and let standards drop so far a current degree is worth a lot less than a couple of A levels 30 years ago and we are churning out graduates who know less than the technicians running our labs. The guy seems to have caught up with this in 2006 and named it pseudo-modernism.
