One can find much wisdom and guidance with the pagans-Aristotle, Aesop, Homer, Greek tragic dramas, Horace, etc. Also folk wisdom, fairy tales and myths. I view religion as an arm of the tribe or state as a means of securing power over the dull minds of the masses. And what can one make of the unholy holidays of modern society? It's all a commercial gimmick.
