Each person's losses, in 99% of the cases, was their own fault in one way or another. Primarily most people never bothered to investigate the institutions, organizations and corporations where their money was invested.
As regards savings interest, it was up to 5% and higher as short a time ago as two years. If you go back further it was found to be around 4% to 5% as far back as 2005. There are also plenty of places to put money but if you are not conversant with the medium of investment, it's better off in your mattress in the form of cash or gold. U.S. T-bonds are also a very good place to put your money. Your rant about the First Lady is uncalled for and inaccurate. Her hairdresser, Johnny Wright, makes six figures a year, but that's from all his clients, not just the first lady. Your bigotry is showing. ( http://www.salon.com/life/feature/2009/02/03/michelle_hair ). Wright is one of Washington, D.C.'s top and most demanded hair stylists. Eat cake.
