Most people are actually looking about for cues from others rather than thinking - the zombies are programmed for this through mechanisms of consensus, voting, television debate and other showpieces - they understand almost nothing except human equivalents of waggle-dancing. The problem is spiritual in a way - we (that is most people) can't cope with blasphemy and thats where most good ideas start. This group is an example of this tiny-mindedness.
