I don’t think I have ever received and not been thankful, but when receiving
from someone who has done so much effort to give, I feel both honored and
ashamed. I find it very difficult to say thank you; it does not reflect the
level of gratitude I feel, my body language, on the other hand, expresses every
gram of it.
You see, Jon, there are some of us who, when giving, extend our hands to give
to the receiver and even lean forward to do so. These are the people who found
it easy to join any type of group, be them Religious and/or Academic/Scientific
groups, and succeed.

I am glad that my ignorance sparked a conversation that has gained an entry to
the FAQs.
