Hello,

It seems to me you're installing the latest version of MIPL (2.0.1) following the "Linux Mobile IPv6" HOWTO. Unfortunately, this document is a bit old and only deals with the installation of MIPL 1.

Indeed, MIPL 2 has a different architecture from MIPL 1.
It is split in two: a kernel patch and a userspace daemon called "mip6d". The userspace tool mip6diag isn't present anymore.

To install MIPL you should follow the guidelines in the files INSTALL.kernel and INSTALL in the latest sources tarball.

Once you have installed the patched kernel and the mip6d daemon, you can start MIPL by calling: mip6d -c your-config-file.
It will start the daemon and enable IPv6 mobility.

Hello everybody,

I'm trying to install Mobile IPv6 for Debian with
kernel 2.6.15.
After recompiling the kernel, rebooting and installing
the paquage mipv6-2.0.1, I tried to enable MIPv6.
I tapped:

update-rc.d -n mobile-ip6 start 75 3 4 5 . stop 05 1 2
6 .

and I got the following message:

/etc/init.d/mobile-ip6: file does not exist

I suspect that it is a problem with the tool
"mipdiag". But I don't know exactly what it is and how
can I have it.

Can somebody help!

Thanks
