I think that's an excellent idea. If you can, please add your logging system
test code to your personal branch - I'm sure the other developers would like to
review your implementation of the library in your test code before agreeing
that using Boost.Log or Log4cpp is the right path to follow for the rest of the
project.

Do you know which of the two implementations you will choose (Boost.Log or
Log4cpp)?

Yes, I am sitting in on the meeting at the moment (Alan, Adam and Tijoy are
doing all the hard work!), and I will post a record of the meeting on the wiki
once it's finished. I usually send a summary of the meeting to the mailing list
as well.

This is a question that can go on the agenda for our general meeting, but a
quick answer might be: we are not using any translation library at the moment,
but I know that gettext has been raised in the past. We are most likely to
implement gettext to support multi-lingual strings in the future (we should
designate a specific release for this in the meeting) because it appears to
work well with Launchpad Translations, which we will probably also use.

But thank you for raising that point; it will go on the meeting agenda. :)
