|That’s commitid 10051F2DD36363A1B44 which is massively complex
|(also because it makes Emacs and Vi share code and data, which
|is a prerequisite for some of this, along with lots of cleanup

|
|@everyone: please do test these changes! (The fix is for Emacs
|mode only but Vi mode prompt length calculation and other code
|and data references are affected, so please test that Vi isn’t
|changed at all and Emacs gets this fixed.)

Ok, finally i've hit the regression for that one (sorry that it
came so late, i'm using 80 column terminals only for vi and some
clearly outlined actions, like git log of my own repos, the others
use the full width of the screen because most people don't care
[no more] and, there, most of my paths fit on the screen).
'Converted the POSIX C138.pdf to text, and tried to look at it;
using less(1) we come here
s /Users/steffen/arena/docs.coding/austin-group/C
<TAB>
C138.pdf C138.txt
<CTRL-A>
?0[steffen@sherwood steffen]$ less /Users/steffen/arena/docs.coding/a>
^
Cursor position
But, i do have an alias `v' that i use most of the time:
?0[steffen@sherwood steffen]$ alias v
v='less --RAW-CONTROL-CHARS --ignore-case --no-init --quit-if-one-screen'
And, with that one:
/Users/steffen/arena/docs.coding/austin-group/C
<TAB>
C138.pdf C138.txt
?0[steffen@sherwood steffen]$ v /Users/steffen/arena/docs.coding/aust>
<CTRL-A>
?0[steffen@sherwood steffen]$ v /Users/steffen/arena/docs.coding/aust>
^
Cursor position
I've just updated my repo, and it doesn't seem as if you've
addressed that in the meanwhile;
But one more: Sorry (that i don't go trying to write the patch
myself)!
And finally one disagreement: it is *much* too cold and clowdy!
|bye,

Ciao, and keep on rolling!
