Hi,

I'm looking for some end-users that have dc(4) NICs with a dcphy PHY.
I would ask that you do a real quick test for me.. if you have the NIC
in a down state, or before you actually configure an IP or just
"ifconfig up" the interface, what does the NIC show for speed/duplex when
in auto mode and does it show a carrier state? I would expect the output
of ifconfig to look something like this...

dc0: flags=8802<BROADCAST,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        lladdr 08:00:20:8e:85:36
        media: Ethernet autoselect (none)
        status: no carrier

and then when you actually up the interface through configuring an IP or just
up'ing it then it would show the right link speed/duplex and carrier state.
If you do have such a NIC could you please get back to me and let me know
what behavior it is that you're seeing.. and please reply to me directly,
not to the list.
