It certainly sounds like Linux does something to the filesystem that OpenBSD
does not like. fsck_msdos might fix it, or at least provide some info.
The output from disklabel(8) on the FAT disk would be useful as well, and the
output from fdisk(8), assuming you put an MBR on it.
