We are about to start adding RAID functionality (a.k.a. IM, IS or IME) to the mpt(4) driver. For this effort we need one HBA in Australia and one in Canada.
We are looking to support these two HBAs: http://www.lsil.com/products/scsi_hbas/lsi20320_r.html http://www.lsil.com/products/scsi_hbas/lsi21320_r.html These HBAs are compatible with the popular on-board SCSI chips that vendors like Dell, HP and IBM use. Sun is now also dropping these chips on their amd64 systems. The idea is to add RAID functionality to the driver and then add mpt(4) to bioctl(8). After that we can start working on adding SAS support for both SAS and SATA2 devices to mpt(4) although this is a little further out.
