I used to have /home shared between OpenBSD and Linux a couple of years ago when I was migrating. It was FFS for the reason discussed in this thread. The version of OpenBSD was 5.0. I do not remember the Linux kernel version but it looks very unlikely to me that they dropped support for FFS.
