No idea about 6005, but there are Dell 5220/6100/6220 (and some lenovo and supermicro) with aspeed chips that work. Beyond that: either ask the vendor to test, or buy one and if it doesn't work you could either try and collect enough information to allow people to fix it, or sell it on again. I think you were unlucky there (it was fairly widely known that HP laptops didn't work all that well with OpenBSD..). But then, if you're willing to run with a local patch for a long period of time, that doesn't really help to get things fixed in cvs.
