The best advice I can give you is do something that you care about so that you don't need anybody else to tell you what to do. If you want to maintain an architecture you need to run it first then understand it somehow. But if you don't know what to do you'll have to find out. Now taking part of OpenBSD's development process might be a first step. It is in any case required to contribute. It's not too hard and well documented: - follow -current - reports bugs and/or regressions on bugs@ - read and tests diff on tech@, ports@ and/or www@ If you keep doing that you'll certainly learn something (I learn a lot every days) and maybe one day you'll be sending a diff asking for reviews.
