Zdravo Marko,

About 7 years ago I implemented something similar while at Georgia State
University. I used Wyse Thin Clients (it was C90LE IIRC) and they worked
like a charm. I see that Dell took over Wyse in 2012.

Right now at Carnegie Mellon University I use Intel NUC NUC5CPYH (2
cores Intel Celeron) which I got for about $140 with memory as my
desktop. I had SSD drive from before.

I am running full blown RedHad desktop on it because the other members
of the lab use that. With exception of MATLAB which takes 2 minutes to
load everything is 100% usable. We already made a decision from now on
only to use NUC as desktop computers in our lab.

I have tested OpenBSD on it but without X. I have another NUC unopened
sitting on my desk so I will be happy to test for you over the weekend
and post dmesg if you want.

I know that NUC is not exactly what you asked for but for about
$160-$170 here in the U.S. saving $50 and getting a "thin client" makes
probably no sense. NUC is completely silent and draws about 10 - 15 W of
electricity. I am not sure what is electric consumption of current Thin
Clients but I would be surprised to learn that it is much lower than
10W.

Cheers,
Predrag
