LSI Logic Megaraid cards (SATA/SCSI). work like a champ. If I'm not
mistaken LSI is currently the only cooperative RAID controller vendor.
Read mailing list archives.
One thing for sure. Anytime we have to buy hardware, what ever that
might be, when ever possible we should stick with vendor that are
friendly to our favorite OS when ever there is such a vendor!
If we can't force them to provide documentations, or be friendly, then
may be we can at a minimum hit them where they understand, $$$$!
Just my thoughts.
I know I do and try to as much as possible when I have the choice of
doing so.
