For my mail server, I created a /var/mail partition of 10 GB. It is currently about 40% full. We don't restrict mailbox size for our users, but if a mailbox is getting too full, we back it up, remove it, and notify the user how he can get a backup copy. So far, noone has ever asked for a backup copy. Eric Johnson
