More on this. The switch is a Speaka Professional KVM switch. I disabled the leds on ukbd's driver and it didn't make a diff so it's likely not ukbd(4). I was in more detail see what's happening. From boot, it goes down to inteldrm0 in dmesg (quoted below) if I can guess and there the screen goes blank. The KVM switch did beep a few times in BIOS but it didn't change the port from PC1 to PC2. In the documentation of the switch is the Resolutions supported and I'M thinking the DRM card probes a resolution that the KVM switch does not like and thus shuts off the video. Could this be a good analogy? The resolutions supported by the KVM switch are 480p, 720k, 720p, 1080i, 1080p and UXGA 1920x1200. After I selected through all 4 PC's coming back to PC1 the X11 login screen greeted me at 1920x1080, so it's inconvenient to do this all the time but it's not the end of the world. Still it would be cool if it worked perfectly. I did look at some of the DRM code and I'M thinking perhaps it needs a quirk? Particularily in /sys/dev/pci/drm/drm_edid.c I think is where it gets the vendor ID of the monitor and installs a quirk for certain types. How would I get the vendor EDID id for my KVM switch is there external programs that query this or must I do a debug in the drm code itself? Is it a matter of setting a certain DEBUG alias? Thanks for anyone willing to help me out, -peter > Below my signature I'll provide a dmesg from this machine. > > Best Regards, > -peter > > > OpenBSD 6.6-beta (GENERIC.MP) #313: Tue Sep 10 23:30:52
