First thing I'd check for that problem is file ownership/permissions,
but if you're forwarding mail into large sites like gmail you're
likely to get a lot dumped into spam folders or dropped completely.
You will have better luck with gmail if you set up POP3 access and
have them collect mail that way rather than forwarding.
