When playing a supported codec wit mpv,
it will explicitly say 'using hw decoding'.

Is there a way to tell explicitly whether e.g. firefox
is using libva when playing a video (as opposed to an observed
cpu drop, which might be due to other stuff)?

BTW the drop in eletrictity consumption (between mpv playing
a video with and without hw accell) is quite negligible. But
that's to be expected I suppose: the GPU does the decoding
more efficiently, but the video still needs to get decoded.
