Is there a known caveat about using zope/plone/python-latest on openbsd 4.0
that we should be warned about?

Yes.

Zope by itself, works. Zope + Plone does not.

The Plone port for OpenBSD 4.0 is currently broken (as far back as
3.9, apparently).

Installing zope 2.8.6-final from ports or packages works fine, but
installing Plone 2.5.1 on top of that does not.

The Plone Universal installer does not work either. The issue seems to
be with python 2.4 build, even though I had a perfectly good python
installed from ports. Something isn't right someplace.

I've been working on getting a source install of Plone to work with a
source install of Zope; if that works, I'll let you know.

I've been asking about this for a few weeks now; I haven't heard
(googled) any reports yet of successful Plone on OpenBSD 4.0.
