You are right - it was a typo by me.
It's necessary to comment out the following lines in /etc/rc too:
snip
#if [ -d /var/yp/binding ]; then
# # YP client capabilities needed...
# echo -n ' ypbind'; ypbind
#fi
snip
...and add these instead to /etc/rc.local so ypbind starts AFTER ypldap
is started. If You don't ypbind hangs at system start and times out.
