I prefere the manpages.
But except that I simply hoped there would be a trick somehow to
disable device drivers at runtime.

precise. :))

Jacob: You should not take "EHCI" that serious. It could have been rum0
or ral0 as well. EHCI was just an example for a piece of code which
could get deactivated with 'config'.
I simply thought if it can get done during the boot there might be a
way to disable/enable such drivers in a running system.
