Hi, I noticed the following difference between the way screen and tmux redraw.
OpenBSD is -current, I use putty a lot, so i connect, then I do "more some_file", scroll to the interesting part and then select from the top most visible line to the bottom visible line, paste it somewhere, then return to putty, press enter to scroll further by line and the whole selection dissappears. When screen is used, the selection stays and disappears line by line along with the seleted text as it is being scrolled. I know that in order to copy to a windows box a contiguous text which takes more than one screen, I could select-paste-pagedown-select... I just used to see the end of the selected part as I scroll the text though (somehow I am more sure that I don't miss anything). Is tmux doing something special when it redraws the top most line of text that makes putty stop showing the selection? Thanks! P.S. putty is 0.60 (the latest release)...
