i hesitate, since this system has always had somewhat flakey mouse
behavior, e.g. occasionally the (usb) mouse will lose power and not
work, until i unplug/re-plug in from/to the usb port. i have it
plugged into the front of the machine so i don't have to get up to
do that. had this since i got the box in spring of '08.
i jumped from a mid-april snap to the 31 may snap, and especially
noticed the jumping to the top/left, and after reading this thread
i think the problem is in fact different than the previous errant
behaviour, seemingly only with gtk apps. can't get the behaviour
on a desktop just full of xterms.
the only wm i've used here is the fvwm in base.
the issue happens with both a logitech mouse and an M$ mouse,
see dmesg below (double dmesg).
