My log is getting quite a few of
Failed to retrieve helo string
immediately followed by
Disabling route
What is common for all those is that errors relate to IPv6 addresses.
Trying to connect manually (i.e. using nc -6 ...) in all cases gives 220
response -- but in some cases not immedately (maybe remote server does
reverse DNS lookup).
In some cases error occurs when smtpd does delivery to exim running on
the same host, which is kind of ironic.
What could be the reason for the errors?
My only guess is that smtpd expects to receive 220 immedately -- and
disables route in case of any delay?
