Still not working. However, I see that /usr/local/bin isn't in PATH. How
do I insert it?

Did you install from the OS X binary

or compile from the unix binary

If the former, then you have to start Scheme from the installed application.
If the latter, then check to make sure that /usr/local/bin is in your PATH.
