Hi Marius,

sorry for the late response to you as well. :) Currently, we export
segmentations as binary images (segmentation context menu -> Save...). You can
also create a (smoothed) surface out of a segmentation in MITK and export that
i. e. as STL. Parameters for smoothed surface creation can be changed in the
segmentation preference pages (pretty new feature, you have to check out a
version from at least yesterday evening).

However, until today we have not had the need for special export formats of
segmentations like DICOM-RT and therefore there is no one implemented. Hence,
it could be a feature request and I'd like you to encourage to create one
(http://bugs.mitk.org). We are also happy for contributions in case you want to
create an exporter, because that would probably be the *fastest* way for you to
get one. :)

Best,

Stefan

Betreff: [mitk-users] Mitk support for exporting segmentation

Hi,

right now mitk supports various file types to export images like .mhd or DICOM.
However, there is no special support for exporting segmentations.

Do you plan to support the export of segmentations in the future, for example
as DICOM-RT? Since most medical applications expects contours in such a format,
it would be great to see such a feature in mitk.

Best regards,
Marius
