Hi Miri,

I´m not sure what exactly your application should do, but in the process of our
2012.06 release (see http://www.mitk.org/wiki/MITK-ReleaseNotes-2012-06) the
mitkExtractSliceFilter was merged into the master. You can now use this filter
according to your needs. Examples can be found in the corresponding test
(mitkExtractSliceFilterTest) and the mitkImageVtkMapper2D is also using this
filter for reslicing purposes.

Regards
Thomas

Dear Thomas, mitk users

I'm still looking for the probe eye view application in order to align
perpendicularly my image to a polyData cylinder.
In our previous discussion you mentioned
mitkExtractDirectedPlaneImageFilterNew. If there are no new news, would you
please describe how that module works and what are the required input and given
output (an example that takes mitk::Image and mitk::Surface would be awesome).

Best Regards,
Miri

Hi Miri,

unfortunately the code has not yet been merged into the master. But I think it
is as question of a few weeks.

Until then you could use a filter which currently in the modul ImageExtraction:
mitkExtractDirectedPlaneImageFilterNew. Make sure to use the "New.cpp", because
the other variant is deprecated.

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

We talked about the possibility to automatically swivel the planes due to a
geometry.
Has this filter been implemented ?

Best,
Miri

Happy new year Thomas,
Thank you for the response.

I'll try to be more specific regarding my needs:
- I need a tool that will take my input (a geometry: line) and will represent
the MRI's slices which are "going through" this geometry.
In that way, the perpendicular slices to the input geometry will be shown
correspondingly (like a car on the road).

During the rendering the geometry used to set the parameters (the plane) for
the vtkImageReslice and the result is rendered onto the screen.
Is it possible to add as an actor my MRI image (not a surface)? if yes, I can
use this.

please don't hesitate to suggest solutions that require more then just one
filter.

I searched a little and found this filter: SliceNavigationController... (maybe
that's the solution?)

Hello and happy new year Miri,
internally MITK is using a vtk class (vtkImageReslice) to perform the swivel
mode. Currently, we are working on a filter which gets a geometry and an image
as input, and provides the resulting slice as mitkImage. I am confident that
this filter will be implemented within the next two months.

Thomas

Hi All,

On MITK gui, it's possible to swivel slices by the swivel mode.

I was wondering if it's possible to use that feasibility by inserting a plane
to a filter/something like that (the plane represents the requested swivel).
In that way, the swivel might be more precise then the handy swivel (by the
gui).

Is it possible to do this?

Miri
