Hi Federico,

this is a known issue. Everything related to this topic is discussed in bug
#13948 (see http://bugs.mitk.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13948). Contributions are
welcome :).

Are the 2D cuts relevant for your application? If not, you can just turn the
visibility of the surface off for the three 2D RenderinWindows. You could also
try to reduce the number of triangles as a quick fix (e.g. with Meshlab or try
our smoothed polygon model).

Regards,
Thomas

Subject: [mitk-users] Surface contours rendering speed

Hi. I've noticed that, when I load a surface (for example a STL file with
around 400000 triangles that is the result of a segmentation process), the 2D
views rendering becomes really slow. The 3D view works great, but I suspect
there's something with the slicing of the surface that's producing a real drag
in the rendering speed of the 2D views. Have you also noticed this problem? If
so, do you know if there's some possibility of fixing it or at least improving
a bit the performance?

Thanks,

Federico
