Dear Charlie,

Rescale slope / intercept should already be automatically evaluated 
during loading, which is internally done by means of ITK and GDCM.

I guess the only thing missing is mitkWorkbench displaying the unit in 
use (like for example kBq/ml).

Did you find wrong pixel values with some kind of images?
