Hello,

I am trying to open ultrasound dicom images from a Philips ultrasound
device with MITK and have a problem with the length calibration. The
measured lengths (and areas) are always off by at least a magnitude
compared to a Philips dicom viewer. However, I would really like to be able
to use the comfortable contrast and measurement tools of MITK.

So my question is, what can be the reason for this mis-calibration and how
could I resolve this?

In the image properties, the PixelSpacingInterpretationString is "Unknown
spacing". This must be because such a parameter is not defined in my dicom
images. With Matlab I was able to open the images and read the parameters.
The pixel spacing is stored in a parameter called:
SequenceOfUltrasoundRegions.Item_1.PhysicalDeltaX (PhysicalDeltaY) in units
of cm/pixel.

As I am new to the topic of the dicom format and MITK I am not sure what
additional information you might need. Thanks for your help!

Best regards,
Vera
