It shouldn't abuse the CPU like that. When I have it all working fine, it 
doesn't use more than a few percent of mine. It does sound like it was a 
while ago when using the hi-fi EQs. Maybe compile with them turned off (the 
name of the option escapes me right now) and see if that helps. Although, 
they seem to be much better in the SVN version (or it defaults to them being 
off, I'm not sure which)
