Hi guys,

(I think the first time I sent this it lost in space.)

With the new year still fresh, I wanted to outline the general plan for
January/February and Mixxx 1.6.0. Our current focus is continuing to fix
up the library, working out the kinks people have discovered in the
beta, and when we get tired of doing those, continuing to work on some
cool other features.

Remaining for 1.6.0:
- Disable rescanning on startup
- Add rescan option to menu, or if someone's feeling up for it,
investigate intelligent rescanning using the QFileSystemWatcher class.
- Fix playlist support (I'll write a new email explaining the plan for
this one)
- Get the OS X build distributable (I've got this one)
- Website/logo overhaul - Paul's got this one.
- Fixing the ton of bugs that have popped up in the tracker. --->
Definitely need help with this one!

Other non-critical features that will be included if they get finished
in time:
- Recording (which doesn't have to do any buffering anymore since that's
now been factored out into the EngineSideChain clas)
- Shoutcast (Wesley's been working hard on this one)
- MixxxScript (Adam fixed up his scripting stuff, see:
http://mixxxblog.blogspot.com/2008/01/mixxxscript-sneaky-feature-preview.html )

Now for the important bit - The Ubuntu "upstream version freeze" for the
Universe repository is February 14th. That's not that far away. In a
perfect world, we would have the 1.6.0 final out by then, but
realistically, we should aim to get beta2 or beta3 in the next version
of Ubuntu.

If anyone would like to help out and try to tackle any of these tasks,
it would be greatly appreciated and it'll help us get 1.6.0 out the door
sooner.

Thanks,
Albert

P.S. I'm sure I've missed a few tasks, but I've outlined the general
plan.
