Hello everyone!
My name is Zach Elko and I've been selected to work on Mixxx this Summer in
accordance with Google Summer of Code. I'm a Computer Science student at
Ball State University in Indiana. My focus is in Game Design. I've had a
number of years programming experience in C, C++, and Java as well as
various other languages such as PHP, BASH, etc... I'm a Linux guy at heart
and I do nearly all of my programming work under that environment.
Let me first thank the mentors that selected my application. Mixxx is a
popular project, and it means a lot to me that I was selected. I'm very
excited about my project. I applied to Mixxx last Summer as well, but for
the "Additional Effects" project. I had a few short conversations last
Summer (after GSOC) with some of the guys about my ideas for a crash
recovery system in Mixxx, as it was an area that really intrigued me.

My mentor and I have been discussing some exciting ways of tackling this
problem, and I hope to get a discussion started on this list in the near
future after my mentor and I have had a few more chances to speak about the
matter.
