Hi Nick, Make sure she has decent videocard drivers (the proprietary ati/nvidia ones).
One thing that always jumps out at me is that the debs in the repo aren't compiled with optimize>=2, which can make performance be not so great. However, you said you got the debs from our site, so those extra optimizations should be turned on. I don't think there should be _that_ much of a performance difference between 1.5.2 and 1.6.0, so I'm curious to know what's going on here. Did you make any progress troubleshooting it yet?
