Hi everybody,

I received the following e-mail today from somebody called Elliot
which he asked to be forwarded to other Mixxx developers:

Adam

I've been using Serato for 4 of my 5 years as a DJ, before then I was
CD's only. I don't so much love Serato (because there's better stuff
out there now) as much as I love the freedom it brings, and I've been
looking for an app that will let me DJ on my home (Ubuntu) laptop as
well as my mobile DJ (Windows XP) laptop.

When I came across Mixxx I was floored. 1) Because even as a developer
myself, I can't begin to wrap my head around that kind of technology,
and 2) I was very excited to see what has come from the DJs in the open
source community!!!

I didn't have much luck with Linux Mint Elyssa (Ubuntu 8.04) x86, but I
gave it another shot tonight on Ubuntu 8.10 x64 using my Serato SL-1,
and it works like a charm! THANK YOU!!!

I've been looking for an open-source project to work on in my spare time
so that I can continue the cycle of open source feeds open source, and
this is a strong candidate. I'm going to give the Mixxx code a good
look and see if I'm feeling up to the task!

Thank you again from me and countless other DJs who appreciate your
work, and maybe just aren't as vocal as I am.
