Hello. I noticed some of the bugs reported on Windows are devoid of troubleshooting info, since most users don't know where to find it. Is there somewhere we can post the following instructions on gathering Windows event logs, mixxx.log, and even Windows' error reporting data so we don't have to ask for this stuff every time?
Thanks. Sincerely, Sean M. Pappalardo "D.J. Pegasus" ---- Getting info from the Windows event logs: Go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer. We're interested in the System and Application logs. Do it in this order: 1) Start event viewer. 2) Make note of what the most recent event is in both logs. 3) Start Mixxx, make it crash 4) Refresh the display of both logs (F5 key) and look at any new events logged (double click them.) Click the Copy button (looks like two pieces of paper,) then paste the text from each into your bug report. ---- Mixxx.log can be found in the program folder (Typically C:\Program Files\Mixxx\ ) Attach this to your bug report. ---- If Windows Error Reporting comes up, click View Details. Save the files to a folder of your choice. Attach the files WERxxxx.tmp.appcompat.txt and WERxxxx.tmp.version.txt, where xxxx is a number. DO NOT include the .dmp file! <<--------------------------------------------------------------------------------->> This E-Mail message has been scanned for viruses and cleared by >>SmartMail<< from Smarter Technology, Inc. <<--------------------------------------------------------------------------------->> ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Mixxx-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mixxx-devel
