Yes, Mixxx itself will do all internal processing at 44.1Khz single precision floating point (except for the EQs which are double precision). So in short, you won't get you're higher sample rate but you will get most of the higher bit-depth.
The barrier for allowing various sample rates is in the filter code. It is currently hard coded for 44.1Khz only. For maximum sound quality I recommend you keep everything at 44.1Khz throughout or you will lose even more quality due to dithering. -John > Hello all. > > I generated some mono 1kHz test tones to test various things in Mixxx > and noticed that (at least on my system: Debian Lenny, Celeron M, Intel > 82801DB AC'97 audio,) it doesn't like anything higher than 16-bit, > 44.1kHz. It's fine using a 16-bit, 44.1kHz file. > > Has anyone tried higher-than-CD quality music files in Mixxx? > > Sean > > > <<--------------------------------------------------------------------------------->> > This E-Mail message has been scanned for viruses > and cleared by >>SmartMail<< from Smarter Technology, Inc. > <<--------------------------------------------------------------------------------->> > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's > challenge > Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great > prizes > Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the > world > http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ > _______________________________________________ > Mixxx-devel mailing list > [email protected] > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mixxx-devel > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Mixxx-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mixxx-devel
