Hello. I have a math problem for you physicists (or algebra whizzes.)
In trying to get an accurate scratch feel, I want the scratch surface of the SCS.3d (8 cm) to correspond to that same arc of a 10" (25.5 cm) diameter record, spinning at 33 1/3 RPM when pitch=0. (Approximately an Isosceles triangle. http://mathworld.wolfram.com/IsoscelesTriangle.html with h=12.75cm (radius) and a=8cm incase you need the angle of arc.) What I need is a formula that outputs the correct playposition slider interval (considering the slider has 128 positions, so 127 intervals or (8/127)cm per interval) for the given track length and pitch. (I'll be asking about sliding between the two values next, so ideas are welcome for that too.) Thanks for any help you can provide. Sincerely, Sean M.
