Hi guys,
After some discussion last week, we decided to try creating a branch
for our upcoming 1.6.2 release. There's been lots of people wanting to
do development that's suitable for trunk, and rather than having them
make 5 new branches, we've instead created a single branch to finish
off the 1.6.2 release. The development in this new branch will focus
on fixing our remaining bugs [1] and finishing off our 1.6.2 TODO list
[2].
The twist is that I want to give BZR a real road test before we go
ahead with moving trunk to it, and I think this is a decent
opportunity to do so. I've created the "release-1.6.2" branch on
Launchpad here, and instructions for checking it out ("branching") and
committing to it ("pushing") are here:
https://code.launchpad.net/~mixxxdevelopers/mixxx/release-1.6.2
It's already been an interesting experience for me. You need to use
"bzr branch" to checkout code, and then after you "bzr commit" your
changes (to your local branch), you push them back to the Launchpad-
hosted branch with "bzr push lp:~mixxxdevelopers/mixxx/release-1.6.2".
Anyways, I spoil the rest for you guys. I'll let you figure out the
rest on your own. :)
Thanks,
Albert
