... and one last point I forgot to mention: In the worst worst worst possible case, I can generate a patch between the last version of the branch and it's root, then apply that patch to trunk in SVN. With that in mind, I think this is relatively low risk (and I'm fully willing to do any work to needed to clean up any mess that results).
