E.g. the SCS.3d, for the most part, accepts commands that light button LEDs with the same control/note #s as the corresponding buttons send. You'd just want to include a warning like "This won't work with all controllers or even all controls, so if nothing or the wrong thing lights up, you'll need to edit the XML mapping file by hand."
