We recently had a discussion about something similar for Audacity. I've done some custom, branded versions of Audacity (e.g., http://www.umixit.com/download.html and http://www.thinklabsmedical.com/electronic-stethoscope/products/thinklabs-phonocardiography-software-161.html).
I've insisted that these projects retain Audacity branding (logo, links, credits) in addition to the clients' branding. All of these versions included significant feature changes, but we've recently been approached by a couple of companies that wanted only their branding, and no feature changes. The recent discussion was about this, and we decided that members of the Audacity Team will not create or endorse such versions. We asked these companies to just mirror the standard Audacity download. Of course, other parties have made their own custom versions of Audacity, and sadly, removed almost all evidence that it's Audacity under the hood. It's legal under GPL. But we decided we wouldn't assist that. I'm pretty certain the Audacity team would be opposed to helping cigarettes proliferate. 2 cents, Vaughan Adam Davison wrote: > Hey everyone, > > I just got an e-mail from someone asking whether we would be willing > to have Mixxx bundled on a cd for a promotion.
