Oh so you didn't "scons install" the 1.7 build...
In that case you'll need to go into linux_build and run "./mixxx
--resource-path ../res" that will run it from the build folder overriding the
default path for shared resources.
Put the mapping files into res/midi off your build folder.
Try that and see if that work for you.
