My name is Zongwei and I am a 2nd year computer science major at UCLA. I have
almost 2 years of coding in C++, and have coded projects such as Asteroids, a
web crawler (for search), and a spam email detecter. I haven't heard about
Mixxx before the Google Summer of Code list came out, but the name caught my
attention. As a musician in both the classical and marching realms, I don't
have much experience with DJ music, but music is still something that I'm
passionate about.
I am interested by the Session History idea, but I would like some feedback on
the search fields that would be most appropriate. My initial thoughts on the
project are to include a button to "Start New Session." Mistake me if I'm
incorrect, since I don't have a lot of experience with Mixxx, but it seems that
it can also be used to record new mixes. This means that users aren't
necessarily doing events every time they use Mixxx. Once the "Start New
Session" button is clicked, Mixxx will record the songs that are played until
Mixxx is closed. The session can be saved with a custom name. Would this be
better, or would organizing sessions by date work better, or possibly both?
I'd greatly appreciate any feedback.
