Hi That projects scope is a bit big for gsoc. As it requires existing knowledge of threading and qt. If you want to do some work on the library a much more self contained project would be Smart Crates / Track Selector. I'll post some more information for this on the wiki soon. The basic idea here is to have a feature that can make suggestions based on some parameters (BPM/Year/genre/...) or the currently playing song.
